I would like to sort this book‘s genre into fantasy. The evidence that supports this is in the front cover, body text, and the back cover. Firstly, there’s a picture of Fer (the main character of this book) riding on a flying horse front cover and a test of only one warrior can heal the endless winter. In real life there is a horse but, not a flying horse. However, in a fantasy there could be a warrior riding in a flying horse to end a never-ending winter. Secondly, in the body text there‘s “the Way” which opens a way to a different world. If you go through the Way there‘s a whole new world. There‘s a creature called “Puck“. Puck could turn into a horse or a dog if they have a specific bone. There‘s a leaf women who changes winter into spring by breaking a stick and letting the sap of that stick fall to the ground. There could be a never-ending winter in the both sides of the Way if “the Lady“‘s blood spilled to the ground unless you undo it by spilling a good blood every winter. However, it makes the ground bad. Lastly, in the back cover of the book it states, “She must discover who she is and unleash her inner warrior before the worlds on both sides of the Way plunge into a never-ending winter.” Again, there couldn‘t be a never-ending winter. Based on these evidences I think the genre of this book is fantasy.
